cee-lo: the closet freaks come out at night.

Cee-Lo Green the soul machine is certainly living up to his name these days. Whether he's singing about contemplating suicide or buying ladies drinks, he brings a full-force whirlwind of soul. And these days, he is turning out soulful sounds like a MACHINE.

You may be among those who are sick of "Crazy" thanks to the constant airplay on radio and video channels, or you may be among those who just realized how fabulous St. Elsewhere is. Either way, you probably want more Cee-Lo than can possibly be delivered. Or can it be?

Currently Cee-Lo is working on three musical projects...Gnarls Barkley with DJ Danger Mouse, The Heart Attack with Jack Splash of Plantlife, and an un-named collaboration with producer Jazze Pha.

If you haven't heard Gnarls Barkley yet than you must live on another planet. The extremely bizarre duo has lucked out, becoming pop music superstars.

The Heart Attack is a collaboration that makes sense the minute you actually hear Jack Splash's music. It's blatantly right up Cee-Lo's alley.

Jazze Pha & Cee-Lo's collabo Happy Hour was originally shelved, but will probably be released after the success of Gnarls Barkley. Honestly, there's no reason it shouldn't have been shelved because it's the least interesting and uninspired of this bunch. But whatevs...the show goes on for Mr. Green.

Silvia Night is congratulating you!! Why? Because she is so amazing, of course.

This Icelandic superstar caused quite the stir at the Eurovision Song Contest this year. When her song "Congratulations" was translated to English, the lyric "the vote is in, I'll fucking win" was pointed out as being inappropriate by Eurovision exec Svante Stockselius. Silvia's response to his statements were "I'll fucking say what I fucking like." In a press conference, she called out a reporter for looking her in the eyes and demanded that her bodyguard take her away. Despite all of this, Ms. Night gained quite a following. She appeared on MTV Japan, telling the VJ that she arrived in Japan to purchase a baby because they're cute. The first thing she says to them is "Dont mention Björk cause she's a retard. I feel really bad for her cause everyone is making fun of her."

The profanity and generally offensive behavior didn't stop there. After Silvia's song did not "fucking" win, Silvia got violent with several reporters, stating "Somebody has been spreading lies about me and I think it is YOU...and you are a slut and I hate you."

Unfortunately, Silvia's performance went beyond this song. She is actually a character created by a member of the band Ske, Ágústa Eva Erlendsdóttir, and an actress on a semi-reality television show. Even the reporter who was carried out by her "bodyguard" was an actress. It actually took a while for the Icelandic and Eurovision audience to realize this. It only took me a few minutes thanks to youtube and wikipedia. At first I was disappointed, and then I realized what an amazing acting job all of this was.

tigarah: what can you do with a b.a. in political science?

TIGARAH was planning to change the world through the government after graduating as a political science major from Japan's Keio University, but instead she decided to change the world with music. It was that simple. She's traveled from Japan to Rio to the UK to L.A. to craft a delightful mixture of Baile Funk, UK Grime, etc. Her full album hasn't even dropped yet, and I am shitting my drawers in excitement...literally.

Apparently, I'm not the only one. Tigarah has recently been the cat's meow in LA--- featured everywhere from the LA Times to cobrasnake. "Girl Fight" was featured in BLENDER's top 20 downloads a few months ago. She's catching on like the bird flu...which isn't really catching on at all.

Beyond all this though, I can't help but think she's just a second-rate M.I.A. But even if she'll never be as cool as the recently deported Ms. Arulpragasam...I don't really mind.

Pharrell Williams has produced some of the most memorable songs of our generation. Hollaback Girl. Slave 4 U. Hot in Herre. Milkshake. Whether you love 'em or can't stand them...you can't deny that they're hits. He's been nominated for Grammies, had minor success with his band N*E*R*D, was voted World's Best Dressed Male by Esquire magazine, and has had his name included on pink t-shirts which say that the wearer kissed him.

Despite all this, I am unsure how his solo career will work out for him. His first single effort with Gwen Stefani "Can I Have It Like That?" only reached #48 on the Billboard Hot 100, which is nothing compared to the number one he reached with Gwen earlier in the year. Surprisingly, it reached #3 in the UK, mirroring the lack of success Kelis had over here in her pre-Milkshake days. His second single "Angel" only managed to climb to #15 in the UK with good reason thanks to the line-- "She got an ass like loaf of bread. You want a slice?"

The third single with Kanye West is much more promising, but people's expectations of a collabo between two of the hottest producers today are going to bring it down. It's currently meeting mixed reviews on the web...

My impression is that fans expecting uber-masculine bling-bling "I came on your girlfriend's face...twice" hip-hop are disappointed. That's not what this is. Fans of N*E*R*D would be disappointed because there's no rock influence on this. Pharrell is trotting on territory he hasn't been on since "Frontin" and I'm not quite sure if consumers are going to buy that. It's a risky move and I salute Skateboard P for going for it. Even if "Skateboard P" is a gay name.
